Riddle mayor resigns
RIDDLE – Longtime Riddle Mayor Bill Duckett officially resigned Monday evening, October 13, at the Riddle city council meeting ending a run of 30 years at the helm.
His Letter of Resignation was read into the record and the city council proceeded to appoint City Councilor Aaron Christensen to fill out the remainder of the term which expires at the end of the 2026 calendar year.
Duckett was first seated as Mayor January 9, 1995.
There will be a retirement party held for Duckett on Saturday, October 25, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Riddle Community Center.
The Riddle City Council will now be accepting applications to fill the vacancy on the council created by the appointment of Christensen to Mayor.

RIDDLE – The Riddle Elementary School students provided the halftime entertainment Friday night at the Riddle High School football game against Crosspoint Christian. The students sang and danced to several songs. This activity has become an annual event as part of the Tailgate BBQ.

The Myrtle Creek Airport Support Group held its annual fall fly-in pancake breakfast on Saturday, October 4.

The City of Myrtle Creek’s new visitor center is not quite open yet, but tours were given.
