Lancer booters fall in second round of playoffs

TRI CITY – The South Umpqua Boys Soccer team hosted their first playoff game in a quarter century
(2000) last Wednesday, November 5, taking on Blanchet Catholic. The result was not good for the Lancers as they fell 3-0. In the first half both teams played rather conservatively on the rain-soaked field at Tri City. The first half ended in a 0-0 tie.

The second half saw Blanchet Catholic score two goals within the first five minutes of the half and by the halfway point they were up 3-0. The loss was only the second loss for the Lancers on the season as they finished with a overall record of 11-2-3 going undefeated in league (9-0-3). Head Coach August Harrison loses seven seniors to graduation. Those players departing are Hunter Hudgeon, Talen Lamm, Logan Schwerdt, Dom Stevenson, Vander Deardorff, Nolan DeWald and Tayden Houghton.
